Madhya Pradesh celebrates 6th June every year as the ‘IT DAY’. The day the prestigious Stockholm Challenge award was received by the State in the year 2000.
On the occasion, the best IT initiatives in the state are awarded. This is the 4th consecutive year for Awards distribution. Along with the IT day celebrations, this year ‘National e-Governance Knowledge Sharing Summit 2010’ is also being organized.
Objectives
To recognize and promote excellence in implementation of e-governance initiatives, the Department of Information Technology, Government of Madhya Pradesh presents Awards for e-Governance every year. The awards have been instituted to:
- Recognize achievements in the area of e-Governance
- Disseminate knowledge on effective methods of designing and implementing sustainable e-Governance initiatives
- Encourage horizontal transfer of successful e-Governance solutions
- Promote and exchange experiences in solving problems, mitigating risks, resolving issues and planning for success.

National e- Governance Knowledge Sharing Summit
The National e- Governance Knowledge Sharing Summit is being organized on 5th & 6th June 2010 at Noor-Us-Sabah Palace, Bhopal to commemorate 6th June as IT Day celebrations of the State of Madhya Pradesh.
The summit aims to provide a forum for policy makers, practitioners, industry leaders and academicians to deliberate, interact and develop an actionable strategy for transparent and good governance.
To grow rapidly and successfully, there is a need to respond proactively to the changing environment. This essentially calls for strengthening the capabilities, seizing and exploiting the opportunities.
There is an inherent need to explore and share success stories, best practices and achievements spread across the country for better implementation of e- Governance initiatives.
Based on the theme - "Transforming Government and enabling Citizens", the summit will provide a forum for discussion among experts from administration, industry and academia. It will enable delegates to share success stories emanating from states and countries which have already taken a lead in e-governance.
